I discovered a new, easy and delicious recipe last Christmas. Our company’s christmas party was held at La Quinta Hotel. Everybody brought something, ofcourse I didn’t cook so I just bought disposable utensils while others brought different specialty of their own. Don’t ask me how they taste like coz it didn’t stick in my mind tastebuds. What caught my attention was the Sopapilla Cheesecake. One of my close friend/ co-worker made it so I asked the recipe right that moment!

My first Sopapilla Cheesecake

Here is the recipe my friend wrote for me:

– 1 (8 oz) packages of cream cheese (softened)

– 1 and 3/4 cup of sugar

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 1 (8 oz) cans of refrigirated original crescent rolls

– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1/2 cup butter (room temperature)

1/4 cup honey

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F then prepare 9×13  inch baking dish with cooking spray

2. Prepare the Cream Cheeese Mixture – Beat the cream chesse with 1 cup of sugar and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth, set aside.

3. Prepare the Butter Mix – Stir 3/4 cup sugar, cinnamon and butter , set aside

4. Prepare the Cake – Unroll the cans of crescent dough, use a rolling pin or just press it into the bottom of your pan/baking dish,  spread the creamcheese mixture on top evenly then cover with the remaining crescent roll. Dot the butter mix on top of the cheesecake.

5. Bake in the preheated oven for  30 minutes or until the crescent dough has puffed and turned golden brown. Remove from the oven after and drizzle with honey. Cool pan then cut into squares.

I hope you like it like I do. Serve it warm, ENJOY!

Tip:  Store left overs in the refrigerator. Heat in an oven for 8-10 seconds and serve!

Riding a horse is one of the best activities a family could have during family day. And so, it is really nice to get along with our family in an activity that both of you would have fun and enjoy the rest of the day together. Isn’t that great that you don’t just have fun but of course, you have learned a lot about the said activity too-  on why do we need to wear outfits like jodhpurs jodhpurs instead of ordinary pants and so much more?  Thus, it does not just bring fun and enjoyment to your family but as well, it teaches us a lesson too.

Are you eating corned beef? What brand?

You know my husband loves corned beef, I remember when were still in college, we used to eat corned beef when we were in my house and even in their house. When we were with friends, he used to request corned beef too. He’s first favorite brand was argentina corned beef then change into CDO and Purefoods. When we got married, he still love corned beef and so with our kids. Ask my kids what they want to eat and they will answer corned beef. See, like father like kids eh? If cravings is one of tha basis for a paternity test the they are perfectly match! Hahahahahah! Sadly, we haven’t have any stock for more than a month now. We are not buying from walmart because my kids will surely not like it. They don’t like ‘imported’ when we were in our country. The Pinoy Store doesn’t have their stock last time so we were trying our luck this week to look for a pinoy corned beef 😀

Before we arrived here, husband made sure we have everything we need at home. He shopped for some bedroom stuff like bed sheets, comforter, pillow and their cases and a blanket. He also shopped for kitchen wares like out pot and pan, spoon and forks, plates, bowl and platters, some glasses and cups and more utensils at Sabatier Knives – www.crosbys.co.uk . When we arrived everything was set. Good thing he rented a ‘fully furnished’ apartment where you don’t need to shop for appliances. But anyway buying appliances here is easy if you have the budget, transporting big appliances  are easy because they can just ship it directly to your home using their  trucks. Don’t worry about them coz they have their own houston truck accident attorney. Just mind the buying, and the payment of what you’ve ask to deliver. But you know boys right, they don’t want a very complicated things so he chose to have a fully furnished apartment among any other options he have.

Multitasking is one of the favourite words for modern housewives today. The main reason behind this word being so popular and constantly used is that, thankfully, as times have changed women do a lot more than simply stay at home and take care of the family. They are responsible for upholding the house income and contributing to expenses, especially with the constant increase in prices, as well as taking care of the children and household chores.

Reality is that multitasking can be very challenging and extremely tiring as work never seems to end.

Finding ‘Me’ time is very important when constantly busy and taking care of everyone else’s needs but your own. Some women feel like watching a movie or reading a book can help them relax and get carried away in another world, unfortunately there rarely is time for that when you are taking care of young children and a hungry husband. Books and movies are not only for pleasure but can also be a very important educational aspect of our lives and it is vital to find time to dedicate to them in order to feel and be a well-rounded person.

There are different ways to learn and keep updated, some mothers will choose to watch the news and cooking shows whilst preparing the dinner or cleaning the house, others however are more often opting for audio books to keep up with their reading and knowledge. In order to listen to audio books, all you need to do is download them on your computer or music player, plug in your speakers and here you go, you are ready to get started.

I think it is important to always remember who we are and carry our hobbies through our daily chores. Losing our selves is not an option and dedicating time to what we love will eventually save our sanity and our family

Cooking different recipes is really one of the exciting stuffs to do in the kitchen, much more in discovery new ones. Yet, sometimes a whole day of is really tiring. With that, we end up in ordering fast food instead.
Fast food is only good if taken occasionally but when you say everyday… it’s no longer healthy at all. With that, cooking at home is still the best thing to do. But for instances like tired from work, searching for healthy foods to order is more convenient rather than choosing fast food chain.
Varieties of restaurants include foods that are far from the food served in fast food chains such as vegetables, sea foods and so much more. Unlike fast food chains, mostly restaurants care about the health of their customers (although, some don’t actually care at all). With that, ordering in restaurant that promotes healthy foods is more convenient than those who just care about their business.
Just like fast food chains, most of restaurants nowadays do accept orders online. And with that, people don’t need to get worried in case they can’t prepare for dinner since they can buy seafood online or even other food which they can select on the menu a restaurant has. Indeed, very convenient!

It’s Ber Month! I can feel Christmas coming. Well it’s good to plan early for Christmas shopping to avoid the rush. Creating a list of what to buy is the first thing to do. Gift giving is the first in my list next to food list. For this year I’m planning of giving ferds childrens clothing and toys for my nephews and nieces. They are located at the other side of the world and rarely see them now so I just did an research on what would be the latest trend for kids nowadays. Good thing I mostly have nieces so it’s easier for me to shop but the problem is that I am a little bit outdated with what’s new in the market. Thanks to online shopping aside from  I don’t have go through the long lines, I can able to see all the latest  and the best part of it, it will be delivered!
